#22 Member of Parliament Halyna Yanchenko on the war in Ukraine
Shownotes
“War does not make any difference between sex or age. Everyone suffers”, says Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Halyna Yachenko.
Halyna was elected to the Ukrainian Rada in 2019 and is the Deputy Chair of Sluha Narodu, SN (Servant of the People), a centrist, pro-European and anti-corruption party. In the Rada she serves as Deputy Chair of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy. She is also a Co-Chair of German-Ukrainian interparliamentary friendship group. We discuss how parliamentarians in Ukraine still manage to do their work, even when the country is at war. She talks about her two children, who are currently refugees abroad and what kind of support she expects from international partners.
Season Two of “Ich bin so frei” kicks off with the obvious: A female voice on freedom and how to shape our future, directly from Kiev.
